Thoughts......

Ryleigh really needs to go to bed.  She is trying to put on her new sandals and is having zero success with it.  She is pissed off!

I have been really sucking at Weight Watchers lately.  It is a combination of really craving burgers and beer and not having any motivation to do any sort of exercise.

I went to get new exterior doors today.  Fuck me, they are not cheap....can't wait til I have to shell out for new hardwood floors.

Watching The View is always painful, yet I generally turn it on everyday (would someone please hand EH a brain).  Perhaps I can just pay someone to come poke me in the eye with a hot needle as it would probably feel like a better use for my time.

I leave to go to Disney in 4 days.  Darian has no clean clothes and I am down to only 2 loads of laundry to do.  Yet I sit here on the computer, not doing any laundry.

Darian has done her own laundry for almost 3 years now.  I am a horrible mother.  I stopped doing her laundry when she figured that it was alright to use 3 towels every time she showered and change her clothes 20 times a day because, you know, I love doing laundry and really needed to do more.

On the subject of Darian....what do you do when you can't stand the way your daughter does her hair?  She is insisting right now to wear these "pig tails" at the nape of her neck that are about half an inch long.....I want nothing more than to cut them off in the middle of the night.

It would be easier to reach Darian's head in the middle of the night if there was not a mountain of dirty laundry about 5 ft. high surrounding her bed.

I am now going in circles talking about laundry and Ryleigh really, REALLY, needs a nap.

You are a great mother for having her do her own laundry. My daughter? Does no chores. And has then nerve to get mad at me for going into her room to gather up her dirty clothes. I shall take a picture of her room to show you a truly messy room. The clean and the dirty are mixed together. Because clothes don't hang themselves, don't you know.

I love the View, Elisabeth is an eejit methinks.

I think the View is a sickness. I find myself watching it on my days off and I can't stop.

Take lots of pictures of Darian with her hair because at some point you can use them to mortify her (like when she's twenty and good sense returns). You can't actually tell her to change it because you know how effective that is and cutting it off may result in a worse rebellion - the trick is to have her peers tell her to change (find one you can bribe, lol).

I can't wait until Hunter can do his own laundry. I just phoned home and he's fighting with Jason about cleaning his room ("but I don't like cleaning my room, it's not fun").

I am with Hunter....cleaning your room is not fun. Either is cleaning the house. Which is why after writing this post I contemplated doing some cleaning and then ultimately decided to have a nap.

My three year old takes his laundry to the laundry room, but that's about it. But soon as he is a bit older and can comprehend separating colors? the laundry can be all his!

Personally, my mother never made me do any kind of housework and now I am about as shitty a housekeeper as you can find. I think you are doing the right thing will starting her early!

When I tell the Evil Genius to clean up his mess, he groans and says "This is the worst part of my day. I HATE this!" Heh. I keep telling him that if he didn't make the mess, he wouldn't have to clean it up, but the logic is lost on a five-year-old.

He will put his dirty clothes (when he bothers to wear clothes at all) on his laundry pile, anyway. He flat chastises me if I put away clean dishes without him. I bet that'll change in a year or two.

I have never watched the view - something for which I was thankful when Rosie joined the henhouse...just seeing her face make my blood pressure spike dangerously. I know, I know...I'm going to lose my membership to the Girl Club, saying things like that. I just don't do gossip shows - no daytime TV for me, unless it's one of those Discovery channels.

It's OK to hate your daughter's hair...and if she's going with you to Disney, you'll be able to get to it. They let you put scissors in checked baggage, don't they??

Oh, and I recommend Pergo unless you are really attached to the idea of actual wood floors. I love the stuff - can't hurt it, easy to clean, and looks enough like wood to make me happy.

I hope you enjoy your trip!

I enjoyed reading your blog. I saw you were listed on Blondie's page, so I came over to check it out. Enjoy Disney.....the weather is cooling off, so standing in line for hours won't be so painful!!
